~ B2 Game Recap - Game 2 - 03/28/06
vs Guppies - 2/4 Loss
Game two of the
young season was another late night game for D5 as they
took a 11pm faceoff versus the world-famous guppies. As
all true D5 fans know, D5 has a storybook like rivarly
with the Guppies which most fans agree is more heated,
exciting, and dramatic than even the Yankees - Red Sox
one.....( by the way...its a lock....NY Yankees 2006 World
Series Champs....#27 )
The
game started off with a flurry of action as both team
tried to get the upper hand. Guppies struck first to take
the one-zip lead. D5 fought back getting the next two
on goals by Dan Gould and Steve Gould. Guppies were able
to knot the game at two just a few minutes later. The
Guppies added a back breaker goal with under a minute
left in the half on a power play goal to finish the half
with a 3-2 lead.
In the second half D5 threw everything they had at the
Guppies but strong goaltending and defense kept D5 off
the board and fustrated. At the other end equally solid
goaltending by D5 goalie Mike Rinaldi kept D5 in the game.
With 4 minutes left in the game the Guppies scored again
to take the two goal lead and pack up the game.
D5
will be back in action next tuesday at 8 pm versus the
Fire-Ants.
