~ B2 Game Recap - Game 4 - 01/03/06 vs Ball Smashers- 8/3 Win

New year....new outcome....D5 faced off against the Ball Smashers in a must win game. As all you loyal D5 fans remember, the Ball Smashers beat D5 in the first game of this season. D5 skated out seeking to avenge the loss and to right their season.

Before the game at a team press conference D5 announced the signing of two new free agents, Kim Thompson and Brian Flynn. D5 officials noted that these two new players would make strong additions to the D5 squad.

As the game started D5 got started right with three goals from Dave Aloi, Erich Harger and Dan Gould. Unfortunately the big lead was short lived as the Ball Smashers scored two to cut the lead to one. Fearing that this game would end up like the last Ball Smashers game D5 needed to stop the bleeding. New comer Kim Thompson scored her first career D5 goal to give D5 the two goal lead again and finish any comebacks. D5 went onto add four more goals as Dan Mokrycki added a pair and Kim Thompson and Dan Gould added their second of the night.

In post game interviews D5 coach Gordon Bombay noted that finally D5 seemed to be playing like a team. Hopefully D5 can continue this as they face off against the Sea Wolves next.

Of Note:
Their were no trips to the sin bin in the game
D5 Goalie Chris Dragotta recorded an assist on the third D5 goal.
