~ B2 Game Recap - Game 6 - 01/17/06 vs Ball Smashers - 3/5 Loss

D5 hockey was back in action Tuesday night for a night-capper versus the infamous Ball Smashers. D5 was looking to extend their win streak to three and bring the team back to .500. With a full lineup D5 looked ready.

D5 started the scoring with a goal from Matt Gould. The Smashers answered right back to knot the game at one. A pair of pretty goals by D5 forward Jason (3rd & 4th of the season) gave D5 a two goal cushion heading into the break. Unfortunately that was the end of the D5 scoring as the Ball Smasher goalie kept D5 at bay in the second half. Taking advantage of multiple penalties the Ball Smashers sparked a 3 goal comeback to take the game.

This was a tough loss for D5 as it placed them in the basement of the league and creates a tough uphill battle to reach the playoffs. Look for D5 to return to form as they face the Fire-Ants at 8pm next week....
