~ C Game Recap - Game 5 - 01/12/06 vs Dead Goalies- 7/3 Win

On thursday night D5 faced the always tough Dead Goalies in the last game of the 1st half of the season. D5 was struck with some tough news hearing that D5 goalie Scottie Jongebloed would not be able to play due to injury suffered in the week before...in a post game news cast the D5 team doctor said that injury would probably sideline the D5 starting goalie for at least 3 games. However Scottie should be able to return before the post season. Of course all D5 players and fans hope for a speedy recovery.

Needing a goalie for the thursday night game D5 entertained offers from Martin Broduer, Dominik Hasek, Manny Fernandez and many others, but D5 knew they wanted they wanted D5 B2 league starting goalie Chris Dragotta.

The game started off strong for D5 as they took an early 3 goal lead with goals from Chad Matthews, Chris Gill, and Dan Mokrycki. However the dead goalies were not giving up, coming right back with two goals of their own to cut the lead to one. D5 and the goalies traded off goals to bring the game to 4-3. (2nd goal for Chris Gill) D5 managed to finish the game strong, taking advantage of the dead goalies lack of subs, with goals by Stephen Gould, Matt Gould, and Jim Pezzulo.

In post game interviews D5 was happy with the win and the strong play of D5 goalie Chris Dragotta. Also props were given to the dead goalie who put up quite an effort while having to play the full game with no subs.
