1.4.2006 - C league schedule change....
Z-rink has just released a press release noting that the Feb. 9th game time has been changed. D5 will now face off against Jokers Wild at 8pm. Ticket holders can redeem their tickets for new tickets at the D5 box office... check out the C upcoming wins for details

1.3.2006 - D5 signs two new free agents....
D5 General Manager Hans reported that D5 has made another splash in the free agent market signing two new free agents to multi-million dollar contracts. D5 introduced Brian Flynn and Kim Thompson at a team press conference before their B2 game. Team officials commented that the signings did push D5 even higher over the salary cap, meaning a heavy luxury tax fine, but felt the move was more that worth the cost......also of note..... ticket prices are now doubled.....

12.13.2005 - D5 signs free agent Jason F. to B2 squad..
D5 is pleased that have signed free agent Jason F. to a one season contract for the 2005-2006 B2 winter season. Jason was rumored to be heading to NHL signing with the Leafs or Bruins, but at the midnight hour D5 offered Jason a lucrative contract and snatched him away. Exact contract amount is not totally know but it has been suggested it was close to 6 million mark with an option for the upcoming spring season. Welcome Jason to D5 hockey.

12.10.2005 - It's all about tradition
D5 is pleased to announce a new addition to our webpage....a history book...now you can re-live all those classic D5 seasons. Check out the years of glory by visiting the history book.

12.9.2005 - D5 Stylin....
D5 is pleased to announce that as of today it has ordered new jersey's. The jerseys will be a maroon one for away and a traditional white for home. They will feature D5 on the front with numbers on back. Comments from the D5 locker room were that while D5 loved its image as the rag tag throw together team, that it was time to recognize the importance that is D5. The D5 logo is know world wide and is ranked as the most recognizable logo just ahead of the yanks, nike, and coke. Now we finally have the official D5 jerseys.
D5 will offer jerseys for sale to the general public. All profits from these sales will go directly to the very worthy charitySD52V (or send District 5 to vegas charity).
Jerseys will be on sale at all home games for 15g's.
Look for the new jerseys to premier sometime next week.

12.9.2005 - D5 C league team announces signing of two new stars
Just hours before D5's first game head coach Gordon Bombay announced the signing of two new stars for D5 C-league team. Chad Matthews (#9) and Chris Gill (#14). D5 press couldn't get the exact amount of the contracts but an a rumour suggests that they were for around 5 million a season with a 1 million signing bonus and a 2 million bonus if the D5 team takes the Z-rink cup. Both players must now pass a team physical. Either way welcome to the team boys. Wear that D5 sweater with pride.

12.1.2005 - D6 C Team Season Re-cap
After finishing the season 8-1-1 in first place, D6 found themselves back in the finals looking to repeat as C league champions. But damn.... the warlock made quick work of D6 in the final taking the championship...props to the warlocks for the big win....D6 is looking to return to the top next season as they plan to return to the C league...

11.27.2005 - D5 B2 Team Season Re-Cap
D5 ended the season 6-2-1 in second place. Unfortunately D5 was bounced by a much improved UConn team in the first round....ouch....congrats go out to the UConn who went on the take the B2 championship. D5 is planning on returning the B2 league to make an another run at the Z-Rink Cup....
